Sally Marie Horwarth

Sally Marie Horwarth, age 88, resident of Leipers Creek Road in Columbia, passed away Saturday, March 16, 2024 at Williamson Medical Center.

Born on November 28, 1935, in Battle Creek, Michigan, Sally was the cherished daughter of the late Donald A. Turnbull and Margaret Ann MacEachin Turnbull. She dedicated herself to a career as a loan officer and held firm to her Methodist faith throughout her life. Sally found great joy in following sports, with a particular passion for cheering on the Notre Dame football and basketball teams. However, her deepest happiness came from the companionship of her beloved grandpuppies.

Sally is lovingly remembered by her daughters, Karen Rench (Joan) of Columbia and Susan (Joseph) Woods of Christiana; grandchildren, Ben (Sarah) Woods of Unionville and Renee (Rusty) Nevins of Leland, NC; nieces, Kathy Drain and Paula (Brian) Brockway; nephews, Thomas Dotson and Tim Vansickler; and brother-in-law, Paul Vansickler.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John A. Horwarth, and her sisters, Judy Ciel and Donna Vansickler.
