Sandra “Sandy” Lewis, age 74, resident of Columbia, passed away Friday, August 24 at Maury Regional Medical.
Funeral services for Mrs. Lewis will be held at 1:00 PM Monday, August 27 in the chapel of Heritage Funeral Home with her grandson Ryan Lutz officiating along with Pastor Tracy Cameron. The family will receive friends on Monday from 11:00 AM till service time at the funeral home.
Born November 25, 1943 in Dothan, AL, she was the daughter of the late Richard and Louise Buckholtz and the wife of the late Donald Mark Lewis. She retired as an administration secretary from Saturn, then she became a substitute teacher at Mt. Pleasant High School. She loved dancing, working out with her friends at Game Time Training and watching her grandchildren play sports. If she could not go to the games in person, she loved streaming their games live on the internet, so she never missed a second.
She is survived by her daughters: Donna (“Spoon”) Symlar of Columbia and Peggy (Spencer) Lutz of Indiana; sisters: Sharon Espy and Linda (Michael) White, both of Michigan; grandchildren: Ashley (Luke) Lattimer, Taylor Lutz, Ryan Lutz (fiancé Sara), Drew Lutz, Cameron Symlar, Devin Symlar and Bryce Symlar.
In addition to her family she is survived by her loving nieces and nephews, along with her great nieces and nephews. With all of whom she shared a special bond.
