Sandra Jean Newton

Sandra Newton, age 77, resident of Columbia, passed away Friday, June 5, 2020 at Maury Regional Medical Center.

A memorial visitation will be held on Friday, June 19, 2020 from 4-6PM at Heritage Funeral Home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Born on March 8, 1943 in Norfolk, Virginia, Sandra was the daughter of the late Samuel Clifford Wathen and the late Mary Margaret Dugan Wathen. She spent the majority of her life expanding her knowledge by attending several different colleges including: The University of Iowa, Middle Tennessee State University and Nashville School of Law. She was very involved in the Afghan Hound Community including the Dog Shows and Rescue Mission.

She is survived by her daughter, Kristy Dunham; son, Brandon (Christina) Newton; grandchildren: Jackson Newton and Morgan Dunham; and nieces: Chris Wathen Greiner and Melissa Wathen.
