Mrs. Sara Ann Odom Jenkins, age 84, resident of Columbia, passed away Friday, October 4, 2019 at Maury Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services for Mrs. Jenkins will be conducted 3:00 PM on Sunday, October 6 at The Lighthouse Church with Pastor Darrell Thrasher, Rev. Paul Pitts and Bro. Eric Redd officiating. Visitation with the family will be from 1:00-3:00 PM at the Church. Entombment will follow in the mausoleum at Maury Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Keith Throneberry, Adam Crowell, Tyler Crowell, Michael Johnson, Guy Odom, Steve Odom, Bruce Odom, Justin Odom and Jimmy Brown. Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Born January 6, 1935 in Maury County, she was the daughter of the late Olie and Reba Mae Estes Odom and the loving wife of Kenneth Jenkins for 67 years. She attended Haylong High School in Mt. Pleasant, was a homemaker and devoted her life to her church ministry. She would call her church family when they missed worship or needed a prayer request. Her home was always open to those who wanted to come by and affectionally known as Nanny to everyone. She truly loved her family and her church.

In addition to her husband Kenneth, she is survived by her daughters: Deborah Huffman and Reba (Amos) McCoy, both of Columbia; brothers: Charles (Tiny) Odom of Columbia and Larry (Shirley) Odom of Mt. Pleasant; sisters: Jeweldean (Larry) Brown of Columbia, Gayle (Jim) Powell of Mt. Pleasant and Peggy Jean Garrett of Giles County; grandchildren: Keith (Jennifer) Throneberry, Kimberly Huffman, Ashley (Michael) Johnson, Adam (Sarah) Crowell and Tyler (Claire) Crowell; special “grandson”: Matthew Primm; great grandchildren: Carter Throneberry, Trip Rock, Lillian Johnson, Caleb Johnson, Jack Crowell, Ryan Crowell, Hattie Jane Crowell and Eliza Crowell; sisters-in-law: Marie Odom of Columbia and Mae Olie Odom of Mt. Pleasant. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers: Ernest Oleen Odom, Cleveland Odom, Terry “Bones” Odom and Malcom Ray “Gabby” Odom.
