Shirlee "Sue" Proctor of Columbia, Tennessee

November 9, 1956 - December 8, 2019

Shirlee “Sue” Sharpton Proctor, age 63, a resident of Columbia, was received with the open arms of Christ on Sunday, December 8, 2019 at NHC Columbia.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 12, 2019 at 5PM at Heritage Funeral Home with Bro. Allen Armstrong officiating. A visitation will also be held on Thursday from 3-5PM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Born on November 9, 1956 in Pontiac, Michigan, Sue was the daughter of the late James A. Proctor and the late Hazel L. Childress Proctor. She enjoyed crocheting, Facebooking, doing puzzles, and playing games. She loved George Strait and Jesus Christ her Lord and Savior. Sue was a long-time member of Tree of Life Fellowship in Mt. Pleasant.

She is survived by her sons: James “Bill” Sharpton of Columbia, Tim (Sheila) Sharpton of Culleoka, Wayne Sharpton of Lyles; daughter, Patricia (Matthew) Gibson of White House; brothers: Larry (Martha) Proctor of Michigan, Bob (Debbie) Gibson of Florida; special friend, Brenda Breeden of Columbia; extended family members: Glen Sharpton, Gail (Jim) Thornburg, Lori (Troy) Hughes; grandchildren: Michael Sharpton, Cody Sharpton, Leanna Gibson (Chase), William Gibson, Emily Gibson; and six great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Beverly Reedy.
