Shirley Ann Phifer

Shirley Ann Phifer, age 84, resident of Ethridge, passed away on Wednesday, June 7, 2023, at her residence.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 10, 2023, at 11:00 AM at Heritage Funeral Home with Jeff Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Sparkman Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday, June 9, 2023, from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM and on Saturday, June 10, 2023 from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Born October 21, 1938, in Williamson County, Shirley was the daughter of the late Samuel C. Sullivan and the late Allie Mae Marlin Sullivan.   For many years, Shirley dealt in antiques, to buy and sell.  Old cemeteries were of much interest to her as well.  She lived life to the fullest and enjoyed bird watching, reading, and traveling.  Shirley was always interested in learning history, especially regarding historical homes.  Genealogy was another hobby she delved into for pleasure.  She was a member of New Prospect Church of Christ and loved her church family.  Above all, she cherished her family very much, especially her special little pumpkin, Caleb Mack.

She is survived by her daughter, Sherry (Kenneth) Riddle of Ethridge, sister, Glenda (MD) Henslee, grandchildren, Heather Riddle (special granddaughter), Joshua (Megan) Riddle, Kim (Jason) Ferrell, great-grandchild, Caleb Mack, other great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Adron (PeeWee) Phifer, son, James Michael (Mike) Phifer, brother, James Carol (Teddy) Sullivan, brother-in-law, Calvin Fitzgerald and grandson, Heath Riddle.

Pallbearers will be Sammy Fitzgerald, Tommy Fitzgerald, Justin Fitzgerald, Gene Sullivan, Calvin Sullivan, Mark Love and Doug Blake.
