Shirley Ann Hall

Shirley Ann Hall, age 77, a resident of Columbia, Tennessee, passed away Monday, July 26, 2021, at Maury Regional Medical Center.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 31, 2021, at 4:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home. A visitation will be held on Friday, July 30, 2021, from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Shirley was born on January 25, 1944, in Sandy Hook, Tennessee to Rosa Bellaphant and William (John B.) O’Neal. She was baptized at a young age under the leadership of Elder Allen Dawson at Saint Ruth United Primitive Baptist Church. She served as the church secretary, an usher and later as the president of the Usher Board then appointed to the Mother’s Board later in life.

She attended Sandy Hook Elementary and Clark Training High School. She worked in the healthcare field in various nursing homes and Maury Regional Hospital as a Certified Phlebotomist. She also worked as a supervisor at Bios Home Health until her retirement. Shirley did not meet any strangers; she was a community advocate and remembers everyone she met. She loved spending time with her family, cooking, fishing, coaching others and tending to her numerous plants.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her two brothers, James and Vernon Bellaphant. She leaves to cherish her memories her loving and devoted husband Elder Walter Hall, her children, Benton Frierson of Columbia, Lisa (Johnny) Jones of Smyrna, Cynthia Frierson of Columbia, step daughter, Silvia (Jerome) Perry of Columbia, her grandchildren, Jason Frierson, Markey Cathey, Ashley Frierson, Demetria Frierson of Columbia, Brittney (Maurice) Yarbrough of Alabama, Justin (Ashley) Jones and Quinton Jones of Smyrna, and eleven great grandchildren. She also leaves her four sisters, Cherry Jones of Kentucky, Debra (Rev. Vernon) Johnson of Mt. Pleasant, Dot Sanders of Illinois, Juanita Bellaphant of Spring Hill, three brothers, Ricky Bellaphant of Kentucky, Kenneth and Jerone O’Neal of Illinois, brother in law, William (Melinda) Hall and sister in law, Helen Sharp, a host of nieces, nephews, and other family members. Shirley also leaves behind a devoted friend, Elaine Chism.
