Suda K. Mckinney

November 13, 1942 — October 6, 2018

Suda Katherine McKinney, 75, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, October 6, 2018 at NHC/Columbia.

A memorial service will be conducted Saturday, October 27 at 11:00 a.m. at North View church of Christ with Ryan Steele, Mike Greene and Jeremy Butt officiating. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Suda was born in Columbia Tennessee November 13, 1942 and was the daughter of the late James S. McKinney and late Wilma Gregg McKinney Steele. Her father was killed in the Battle of the Bulge in WWII, when Suda was two years old. She was raised in the Riverside area by her mother and stepfather, Gilbert Steele. She was a 1960 graduate of Columbia Central High School and graduated from Columbia Business College. Suda lived and worked in Nashville before retiring from Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Suda would travel home weekends to spend time with her beloved mother. She enjoyed shopping, sewing, and collecting recipes. She was a charter member of Riverside church of Christ, now the North View church of Christ.

Suda is survived by her brothers Roy (Linda) Steele of Keller, Tx. and John (Debra) Steele of Columbia. She loved her nieces Sherri, Stacy, Shana and Jessica, nephews Ryan, Jonathan, and Benjamin, numerous great nieces, nephews and cousins like they were her own children.

The family would like to thank Dr. Messenger and his staff at the Maury Regional Cancer Center, the nurses, techs, and staff at NHC/Columbia, and Hospice Compassus for the kindness and care given to Suda.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to be made to the North View Youth Fund or the American Cancer Society.
