Teresa "Terri" Shelton Thompson

Mrs. Teresa “Terri” Shelton Thompson, age 63, wife of Kenneth Thompson, and a resident of Columbia, passed away Thursday, August 16, 2018 at her residence.

A funeral service will be held on Sunday, August 19, 2018 at 3PM at Parkway Baptist Church with Pastor Mike Roberts officiating. Burial will follow in Maury Memorial Gardens, adjacent to Heritage Funeral Home. A visitation will be held on her and her husband’s 38 ^th wedding anniversary, Saturday, August 18, 2018 from 4-8PM and again on Sunday from 2-3PM at the church. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Born on June 6, 1955 in Lebanon, Indiana, Terri was the daughter of Phyllis L. Long Shelton and the late Clifford E. Shelton. She married Kenneth Thompson on August 18, 1980, and together they had five children. Terri loved going to church. She was a member of Parkway Baptist Church and dearly loved her pastor. She enjoyed going to the beach, crocheting, re-borning dolls, and fishing, especially for cat fish. Terri loved her family, especially her grandchildren and will be dearly missed.

In addition to her mother and husband, she leaves behind to cherish her memory her sons: Jamie (Frankye) Thompson of Columbia, Joshua Thompson of Columbia; daughters: Michelle Kolb of Pulaski, Brandy Morgan of Shelbyville; brother: Clifford (Nancy) Shelton, Jr. of McMinnville; and sister: Diane Farmer of Cookeville; sixteen grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.

Along with her father, she was preceded in death by her daughter: Tonya Thompson on September 1, 2011; granddaughter: Jacklyn Collins on January 23, 2018; and brother: Michael A. Shelton.

Pallbearers will be: Kenneth Thompson, Jacob Dotson, Joshua Thompson, Shana Thompson, Daniel Jones, and Claudia Jones. Honorary pallbearers will include: Jeff, Donnie, Randall, and Trent Wray.
