Terry “Oz”Bowman, age 61, resident of Columbia, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, April 14, 2025.
Born on October 21, 1963, in Los Angeles, California, he was the son of the late Winston Bowman and Shirley Burleson Pitts. Oz was of the Christian faith and known for his heart of gold—always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need. He had a deep love for the outdoors, especially boating and fishing, and found joy in simple pleasures surrounded by nature.
He worked for many years at Keith Baker Homes, where he was proud to be recognized as the number one salesperson for several years. He also had a passion for remodeling homes, using his talents to improve the lives of others. Above all, Oz cherished time spent with his family and children. His warmth, generosity, and presence will be missed by all who knew him.
Along with his mother he is survived by the mother of his children and lifelong friend, Teresa Bowman; son, Terry Austin Bowman; daughter, Kelly (Buddy) Freeman; brothers, Randy Bowman and Austin Bowman; sisters, Patty Gossett, Kathy Bowman, and Lisa Bowman; and his beloved grandchildren, Madison “Shiny” Savage and Ryan Savage.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his sister, Martha Burleson, and brothers, Danny Bowman and Tony Bowman.
