Mr. Thomas “Tom” Fletcher Hargrove, age 93, husband of Margaret Colleen Baker, and resident of Shouse Road in Santa Fe, died Monday, May 25, 2020 at his residence.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 28, 2020 at 12:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home with Sue Miller, Pastor Joe Bowers and Eddie Miller officiating. Burial will follow in Goshen Cemetery. A visitation will also be held on Thursday from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Born on December 21, 1926 in Lynch, Kentucky, Tom was the son of the late Jessie Hargrove and the late Evie Moss Hargrove. He was a 1947 graduate of Santa Fe High School and married Margaret Colleen Baker on June 26, 1948. He worked thirty-six years for the United States Postal Service in Louisville, Kentucky before retiring and later worked eight years at Smith-Kline Beacham Lab before retiring for a second time. Tom’s life centered around his family, especially his wife who he loved more than anything and his great grandchildren who he often doted over. He was an avid University of Kentucky Basketball fan and a member of Goshen United Methodist Church.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sons: Joe (Debbie) Hargrove of Santa Fe, TN, Dennis (Carol) Hargrove of Columbia, KY; sister, Lois Davidson of Louisville, KY; sisters in law: Margaret Hargrove of Louisville, KY, Doris Hargrove of Glasgow, KY, Gaye Peach of Santa Fe, TN, Jean Baker of Santa Fe, TN; grandchildren: Heather Campbell of Santa Fe, TN, Stacy (Carl) Kuhn of Georgetown, KY, Brad (Lindsey) Hargrove of Santa Fe, TN, Brent (Libby) Hargrove of Santa Fe, TN, Brian (Brandy) Hargrove of Columbia, KY; and great grandchildren: Nicholas Campbell, Jackson, Benton, Lily, Brayleigh and Braylynn Hargrove, and Brianna, Natalie, Wyatt and Abby Gunter.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers: Ed, Charley, and Lawrence Hargrove; and sisters: Blanche Roberts, Madlyn Ellis and Mary Edith Hargrove.
Pallbearers will be: Bradley Hargrove, Brent Hargrove, Brian Hargrove, Wyatt Gunter, Marty Lockhart, Nicholas Campbell, Larry Baker, and Jason Campbell. Honorary pallbearers will include: the men and women of Goshen United Methodist Church, Reba & Harold Meador, Ronnie King, Howard Blackburn and Madison Dodson.
