Timothy Joseph Cantwell

Mr. Timothy Joseph Cantwell, age 78, husband of Bunty Burnet Cantwell, and resident of Lewisburg, passed away Saturday, September 17, 2022, at his residence.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 22, 2022, at 2:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home with Father Regimon Augustine officiating. A visitation will also be held on Thursday beginning at 12:00 with the Masonic service at 1:45 PM at the funeral home. A graveside service will be held on Friday, September 23, 2022, at 11:00 AM at Middle Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery in Pegram with military honors provided by the United States Navy. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Born on January 16, 1944, in Detroit, Michigan, Timothy was the son of the late Bruce Anthony Cantwell and the late Ann Genereux Cantwell. He met Bunty Burnet while serving on the USS Hunley in Holy Loch, Scotland; they married on August 25, 1965. He served in the United States Navy in submarine service for twenty years before retiring. A Science and Chemistry whiz, he enjoyed studying Astronomy and Geology. Timothy also loved shooting and was a train hobbyist. He was a member of the Chapel Hill Masonic Lodge #160 and of the Catholic faith.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughters, Angela Lynn (Larry Todd Seiple) Wisdom of Columbia, TN, Carolyn Denise (Marty) DiLoreto of Spring Hill, brother, Dennis J. (Patricia) Cantwell of Punta Gorda, FL, sister, Bernice Ann Young of Bonita Springs, FL, grandchildren, Dr. Nicholas (Dr. Lindsey Anne) DiLoreto, Sean (Morgan) Wisdom, Anthony DiLoreto, Alyssa DiLoreto, Grant Wisdom (fiancé Addy Schneider), Lauren Seiple, and great grandchild, Sophia DiLoreto.

Pallbearers will be Sean Widsom, Grant Wisdom, Anthony DiLoreto, Dr. Nicholas DiLoreto, Marty DiLoreto, and Larry Todd Seiple.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the doctors, nurses, and staff of Hospice Compassus, Dr. Khalaf of Cool Springs Oncology, the nurses, doctors, and staff of Williamson Medical Center, and Dr. Dickinson with Urology Associates for their care and compassion for Timothy.
