Valerie Johnson

Valerie Ann Johnson, age 44, a resident of Iron City, passed away Monday, March 8, 2021 at North Alabama Medical Center.

A Celebration of Life for Valerie will be held on Thursday, March 11, 2021 beginning at 2:00 PM at Open Door Baptist Church in Columbia. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Born on February 9, 1977 in Columbia, Valerie was the daughter of Doug Johnson and the late Audry Isabell Crittenden. She previously worked as a CNA for Waynesboro Health & Rehabilitation Center where she loved working. She loved animals, dancing, and singing. Valerie was a big-hearted person who loved everybody and making others feel better.

In addition to her father, she is survived by her daughters: Dana Arnold, Faith Rich; brothers: Derrick (Shannon) Johnson, James Douglas Johnson (Lisa Pierce), Chris (Elizabeth) West; sisters: Christy Estes, Jamie (Jason) Simpson; boyfriend, Jamie Stults; and several nieces and nephews.

Along with her mother, she was preceded in death by her grandparents: Betty & William Boyd Morton and William & Gracie Johnson.
