Virgil Mayberry, Jr.

Virgil E. Mayberry, Jr., age 65, a resident of Columbia, passed away Wednesday, April 28, 2021 at NHC Columbia.

A graveside service will be held on Sunday, May 2, 2021 at 2PM at Rosemont Cemetery. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Virgil was born on December 28, 1955 in Columbia and was the son of the late Virgil E. Mayberry and the late Louise Armstrong Mayberry. He loved farming, listening to the birds, hunting, and fishing. Virgil collected tractor and farm animal figurines. He could be an old grizzly bear but had a heart of gold.

He is survived by his sister, Ruby Bullock of Mt. Pleasant; two nieces; one nephew; seven great nieces; six great great nieces and nephews; and devoted caregiver, Violet Sanders and her family.
