Virginia May Trummel

Virginia May Trummel was born on October 17, 1943 in Imperial, Nebraska. She is preceded in death by her parents, Maurice and Catherine Hasty and brother Roger Hasty.

She is survived by her daughters Cindy (Wayne) Abbott of Franklin, TN and Kay (Rick) Hamilton of Columbia, TN, grandchildren Robert (Carolyn) Abbott, Matthew (Becca) Hamilton and Megan Hamilton, great-grandchildren Connor Abbott and Claire Abbott, and sisters Marie Stewart of Waverly, TN and Lora Hill of Colorado Springs, CO.

Virginia was a traveler from an early age. She lived everywhere from Colorado Springs to Greenland. She loved taking her girls with her on her travels. Some of Cindy and Kays most precious memories were of their trips with her to the Bahamas, and as they got older and had families of their own, they would all come to Disney World to spend time together. Later in life she settled in Spring Hill, TN to be closer to her girls and her grandkids. She retired from her career in business administration with Ford Motor Credit. After retirement, she most enjoyed spending time with her friends at the Senior Center playing cards and becoming the envy of the center as a Wii Bowling champion. She loved spending quality time with her family. Pedicure and lunch dates with her girls were a frequent occurrence, and she loved to make a meal for her family (although she could never remember SOME members disdain for peppers and onions!). Her family was her pride and joy and even in her last moments she wanted prayers for her girls to be well after she was gone. Her unconditional love for them will carry her family through their grieving, and her faith gives them comfort that she has rejoined her family in her heavenly home.

The family will receive condolences at the visitation on Monday, August 21, 2023, at Heritage Funeral Home, 609 Bear Creek Pike Columbia, TN 38401 from 1-3 pm with the funeral service to follow at 3pm.
