Virginia Spears

Elizabeth Virginia Spears, age 90, a resident of Hohenwald, Tennessee, passed away Wednesday morning, September 6, 2023, at her residence.

Virginia was born on April 3, 1933, in Augusta, Georgia, and was the daughter of the late Henry Hunter and the late Gladys Whitfield. She most recently managed the Hohenwald Food Bank for fifteen years. She was a member of Swan Creek Baptist Church in Hohenwald, and formerly a member of Garrett Baptist Church in Hohenwald. A true book worm, Virginia loved to read and was an excellent cook, and in her younger years, she enjoyed doing arts and crafts.

She is survived by her son, Kenneth (Corina) Spears oh Hohenwald, TN, sisters, Peggy Bazemore of Sylvania, GA, Mariam Morgan of Sylvania, GA, and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Malcolm Spears and sisters, Lillian Youngblood and Martha Morrell.

It was Virginia’s wishes to be cremated with no public service. Heritage Funeral Home in Columbia, Tennessee is assisting the family with arrangements.
