Walter David Lovett, Jr.

Walter David Lovett, Jr., age 63, a resident of Columbia, passed away Friday, May 21, 2021 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

A memorial service will be held at 7:00 PM on Thursday, May 27 at Heritage Funeral Home with remembrances given by family and friends. The family will visit with friends from 5:00 - 7:00 PM on Thursday at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Born on August 27, 1957 in Columbia, he was the son of the late Walter David Lovett, Sr. and Maude Fitzgerald Lovett. Walter worked as a paint and body man for several body shops, including Hunter’s. He loved to fish, ride motorcycles, boating, watching UT football and racing. Best of all was he loved being Pawpaw to his grandson, Jonah.

Walter is survived by his son: Richie (Amber) Lovett of Murfreesboro; a brother: Chris Lovett of Glasgow, KY; sister: Denise (Tammy) Lovett of Glasgow, Ky; grandson: Jonah David Lovett; longtime friend: Barbara Howard of Columbia; several aunts, uncles, and cousins. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents: Will and Lou Fitzgerald; paternal grandparents: Jessie P. and Lottie Lovett.
