Wanda Gail "Goo" Sartain

Wanda Gail “Goo” Sartain, age 68, wife of Mark Sartain, and a resident of Chapel Hill, passed away Monday, March 27, 2023, at NHC Maury Regional Transitional Care Center.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 30, 2023, at 9:00 AM at Heritage Funeral Home with Pastor James Maddox officiating. Entombment will be held at Woodlawn Memorial Park at 12:00 PM. A  visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 29, 2023, from 4:00 – 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Born on April 4, 1954, in Nashville, Wanda was the daughter of the late Gene Leo Ramsey and the late Gloria Kelley Ramsey. She was a day care worker for twenty-five years, and she and her husband pastored God’s Refuge Church in Columbia. She was an excellent singer and loved ministering to others through her Gospel singing. Wanda also loved animals and was a people person who loved giving to others. Above all, she was a devoted pastor, wife, and sister and will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her sisters, Sharon (Butch) Pinchek of Columbia, Karen Perdue of Kentucky, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Vickie Ramsey, Kim Ramsey, Lisa Nickens, and Butch Ramsey.
