Wendell Darrell Norman

Wendell Darrell Norman, age 63, a resident of Mt. Pleasant, passed away Thursday, January 28, 2021 at Maury Regional Medical Center.

A funeral service will be held on Sunday, January 31, 2021 at 2PM at Heritage Funeral home with Rick Points officiating. A visitation will be held on Saturday, January 30, 2021 from 4-8PM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Better known as “Grandpa” by many, Darrell was born on December 3, 1957 in Maury County and was the son of the late Howard Norman and the late Barbara Jane Cozart Norman Henson. He was a graduate of Columbia Central High School and worked in maintenance for Leadec Inc. Darrell loved fishing, hunting, and riding his Honda motorcycle. He was a stickler about his lawn, mowing and manicuring it every few days. He would even get upset if someone parked their vehicle on it! He was the “go to” person for his children and grandchildren, and every Saturday morning he would take Bryson to eat breakfast at the Small-Town Diner in Mt. Pleasant.

He is survived by the love of his life, Diana Norman Beckman; daughters: Holly (Tommy) Owens, Wyntar (Jonathan) Haywood, April Posey, Amanda Norman; brothers: Howard “Junior” (Angie) Norman, Jeff (Dianne) Henson; sister, Cindy Norman Hargrove; grandchildren: Chase Foshee, Collyn Foshee, Caleigh Attkisson, Chelsey Norman, Madison Haywood, Bryson Haywood, Trenton Posey, Chloe Hulsof, Madison Owens, Kylie Owens, Landon Huls, Braxton Huls, Teegan Huls, Jacob Mathers, Myla Mathers, Jeffery Mathers, Mia, Makayla; very dear friends who he worked with for twenty-six years, Larry & Joan Poole, Ricky Pruitt, and Colleen Pitts; and Pomeranian pet, Zoey .

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three grandchildren: Clara, Catherine, and Christian Norman.
