Wilburn Gordon

March 27, 1966 - September 21, 2023

Mr. Wilburn Dwayne Gordon, age 57, resident of Mt. Pleasant, Tennessee, passed away on Thursday, September 21, 2023, at Maury Regional Medical Center.

A native of Maury County, Dwayne was born on March 27, 1966, to Sandra Patricia Vinson Gordon and the late John Gordon. He attended Gunkle Elementary School and Libby High School in Toledo, Ohio, where he spent most of his life until he moved to Mt. Pleasant, Tennessee. Dwayne earned his living by working at restaurants. His favorite past time was talking, teasing, and fishing.

He leaves to cherish his memories, not just his mother, but his friend, fishing partner, ride or die until the end, Ms. Sandra Vinson Gordon of Mt. Pleasant, TN; two brothers, Michael Gordon of Nashville, TN, Jeremy (Yolanda) Gordon of Toledo, OH, sister, Maria Gordon Brown of Mt. Pleasant, devoted niece, Mahogany Brown, nieces, Jada Gordon,  Makayla Gordon, Shila Bailey, Anissa, nephews, Michael (Makenzie) Gordon, Jr., Jeremy Gordon, Jr., a host of cousins, aunts and uncles, Mr. Charles Albert Vinson, Rev. Dr. Ronnie (Bridget) Vinson, James, Walter, Herbert, and Henry Gordon, Lynn Gilbreath, and Stella Williams.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Deacon Albert & Dorothy Vinson, Eugene & Lorene Gordon, and great grandparents, Sam Booker and Irene Dawson.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 5, 2023, at 1:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home. Following the service, he will be laid to rest in Maury Memorial Gardens. A visitation will also be held on Thursday from 12:00 – 1:00 PM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
