William Wiley Toombs, age 47, resident of Lynnville, passed away on Friday, August 19, 2022 at his residence.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, August 26 th at 11:00 AM at Heritage Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Maury Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends on Thursday, August 25 th from 5:00 – 7:00 PM and again on Friday from 10:00 AM until the service hour at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Wiley was born September 20, 1974, in Columbia and was the son of William Toombs and Diane Watson. He attended Spring Hill High School and went to work at an early age. He worked for Maury Fence Company for 20 years and had his own business building fences and decks for a while. Currently he worked for John Maher Builders. Wiley was an adventurous man from enjoying riding motorbikes to even bull riding. He was an outdoorsman that loved to hunt and fish. He also was an avid Alabama fan. Even with his rebellious personality he was always there to help anyone in need. Wiley volunteered for 5 years at the Hickman County Fire Department and 20 years at the Maury County Fire Department at the Mynder’s Community in Columbia. He will be missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife, Carrie Hughes Toombs of Lynnville; father, William (Sandy) Toombs of Columbia; mother, Diane (Gary) Watson of Rockvale, TN; grandmother, Alene Lambert; daughter, Cheyenne (Daniel) Colón of Lobelville; son, Colton Toombs of Columbia; step-children, Dakota (Jake) Holliday and Cheyane (Steven) Rylko; brother, Adam (Ela) Toombs of Japan; sister, Sara (Eric) Peitz of Fayetteville; grandchild, Liam Colón; mother in law, Faye Hughes; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Jerry Love, Jr. “Moose”, Kyle Cornwall, Kyson Cornwall, Daniel Shockey, Jerritt Davis, William Peitz, and Tim Turner. Honorary pallbearers will be all the volunteers of the Maury County Fire Department.
