Will Green

William Sergent Green, age 50, resident of Columbia, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Friday, September 2, 2022, at his residence surrounded by his loving wife and daughters.

A celebration of life visitation will be held on Friday, September 9 ^, 2022 from 4:00 – 7:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home.  Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Will was born December 10, 1971, in Maury County and was the son of John Dixon Green and the late Barbara Anne McLellan Green. He graduated from Central High School in 1990. Will was a loving husband, father, brother, and son. It is hard to find the words to truly capture the life of a man so strong and gracious. One of his favorite parts of the week was his visits from his father and his daughters. Will loved building and fixing things, which shown through in his work. “Mr. Jack of All Trades” loved to take something old and give it a fresh new spin. From building every Better Homes & Garden house that Penny dreamed of, to creating and building others’ dream kitchens, bathrooms, and homes. Even through illness, he found a way to fix and build new projects. He could and would do it all. When he was not doing services for others, he could be found at Tim’s Ford Lake, driving a boat with his wonderful family surrounding him. He was known for his compassion, strength, and humor, which shown through in any and all situations. He could always be found laughing or making those around him laugh. If he had a hand to lend, he would. Will will be missed dearly by those who knew him.

He is survived by his loving wife, Penny Green of Columbia; daughters, Meagan Green (Nick) Clark, Hannah Marie Green, and Katherine Anne Green, all of Columbia; brother, John Dixon “Jay” (Bev) Green, III of Mt. Pleasant; and sister, Susan Green (Dan) Garman of Columbia.

Along with his mother, he is preceded in death by his grandmother, Ruth Sergent Green.
