Mr. William David Taft, age 68, a resident of Lewisburg, passed away Saturday morning, November 23, 2019 at his residence.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 27, 2019 at 2PM at Heritage Funeral Home with Randy Hankins & Joe Fults officiating. Burial will follow in the Garden of Freedom in Maury Memorial Gardens with military honors provided by the Herbert Griffin American Legion Post 19. A visitation will also be held on Wednesday from 12-2PM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Born on December 31, 1950 in Little Rock, Arkansas, David was the son of the late John Taft and the late Mary Erwin Taft. He was a 1968 graduate of the Columbia Military Academy and served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War where he was stationed in Turkey. He worked for General Electric, International Comfort Products and as a Grants Program Manager for the State of Tennessee before retiring. David enjoyed working on his truck before his health failed him. He was of the Baptist faith.
He is survived by his wife, Teresa Taft of Lewisburg; son, Jeremy (Wendy) Taft of Columbia; and grandchildren: Joshua David (Emily) Taft of Culleoka and Hannah Katie Taft of Columbia.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, John David Taft and brother, John Daniel Taft.
Pallbearers will be friends and family.
