William James McNeely, Sr. “Billy Mac,” age 62, a resident of Lynnville, passed away Monday evening, December 17, 2018 at Maury Regional Medical Center.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday at 10AM at Heritage Funeral Home with Frank Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Harvey Cemetery with military honors provided by the Herbert Griffin American Legion Post 19. A visitation will be held on Wednesday from 5-7PM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Born on June 14, 1956 in Spring Hill, Billy was the son of the late William Spivy McNeely and the late Maggie Ellen Tomlin McNeely. He served his country in the United States Army and previously worked as a meter reader for the Water District. He was raised Church of Christ and growing up was a member of Browns Chapel Church of Christ in Spring Hill. He enjoyed fishing, collecting knives, and hanging out and having a few drinks at Neon Moon. Billy especially loved his dogs, Jake and Suzie.
He is survived by his wife: Pam McNeely of Lynnville; children: Misty Whary of Pulaski, James McNeely of Tiptonville, Jennifer Gregory of Florida; step children: John Dru (Joanna) Leonard of Collierville, Toby Paul (Katie) Leonard of Murfreesboro; brother: Leonard “Sonny” (Jackie) McNeely of Columbia; sister: Betty Jo (Mike) Stinnett-Blackburn of Culleoka; nine grandchildren; and several great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings: Bernice Ellen Witherspoon, Joyce Wisheart, Wanda Faye Kicklighter, Mary Schwartz, Connie Constance McNeely, and Ronnie Lee McNeely.
Pallbearers will be: John Leonard, Toby Leonard, Wayne Stinnett, Billy Stinnett, Mike Blackburn, and Billy Capps.
