William Powell

Mr. William “Bill’ Brooks Powell, age 79, a resident of Spring Hill, Tennessee passed away Wednesday, December30, 2020 at his residence.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, January 4, 2021 at 1:00 PM at Stubbs Cemetery in Abbeville, Georgia. Heritage Funeral Home in Columbia, Tennessee and Paulk Funeral Home in Fitzgerald, Georgia is assisting the family with arrangements.

Bill was born on April 25, 1941 in Abbeville, Georgia. He served in the United States Army and was later a police officer for many years in Augusta, Georgia. Bill worked as a general manager for many different restaurants including, Denny’s, Wendy’s, Hardees, and several steakhouses. He was an avid NASCAR fan, especially Dale Earnhardt, Jr., and in his younger years, he was a decorated horse showman. He dearly loved his beloved dog, Rambo. Bill was of the Methodist faith.

He is survived by his wife, Sandra Spencer Powell of Spring Hill, TN; children: Nancy Denise Joyner of Orange Park, FL, Sharon Lynn (Jerry) Tanner of Waycross, GA, Linda Kay Richardson of Waycross, GA, William Derick (Peggy) Wade of Douglas, GA; cousin, James Wester; eleven grandchildren; and many great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Robbie Wester Powell.
