William Joseph Wilkison Iii

Mr. William Joseph Wilkison III, age 70, husband of Mary Wilkison, and a resident of Columbia, passed away Thursday, October 3, 2019 at Maury Regional Medical Center.

A private burial will be held in Middle Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery in Pegram. The family will visit with friends on Monday, October 7 ^th from 6-8pm at Heritage Funeral Home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Bill was born August 31, 1949 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and was the son of the late William Joseph Wilkison II and the late Evelyn Withers Wilkison. He served his country honorably in the Air Force during the Vietnam War and retired from Numatics Actuators in 2017. He recently started a second career as a Business teacher at Columbia State Community College. Bill was a dedicated husband and father, lover of music, gardening and civil war history. He will be remembered for his kind heart and loving gentle nature.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Mary Beuerlein Wilkison; son, William and his wife Elizabeth; two grandsons, William Wilkison V and Owen Wilkison; and his sisters, Jacque Wilkison Gangi and Janet Wilkison Spruill.
