Mr. Willie James Barner, age 65, a resident of Nashville, previously of Columbia, departed this life on Thursday, September 12, 2019 at his residence.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, September 20, 2019 at 1PM at Heritage Funeral Home with Rev. Willis Orr officiating. Burial will follow in the Garden of Peace at Maury Memorial Gardens. A visitation will be held on Friday from 12-1PM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Willie was born on March 16, 1954 in Columbia and was the son of the late Jean Barner Osborne. He moved to Nashville and pursed employment at The Goodwill Industries where he was considered a valued employee for twenty years. In his leisure, he enjoyed art, electronics and listening to music.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory seven children: Tim Lyles of Columbia, Wyaneze “Juan” (Eugeina) Turntine of Spring Hill, Stephanie “Stebo” Kennedy of Columbia, Wanika “Niki” (Brian) Yokley of Nashville, Wesley Barner of Columbia, Morris (Mayloni) Warfield of Arizona, Whitney Barner of Antioch; sisters, Francine (Joe) Childs of California and Princess Tequila Davis of Nashville; aunts, Roberta Burkeen and Edith (Gene) Freeman of Antioch; a devoted cousin, Pearl Harbison of Illinois; two nieces; two nephews; thirteen grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Fontaine Osborne.
Pallbearers will be: Tim Lyles, Wyaneze “Juan” Turntine, Wesley Barner, Brian Yokley, Dmarco Williams and Manuel “Lil Man” Jones. Flowers girls will be: Stephanie “Stebo” Kennedy, Wanika “Niki” Yokley and Whitney Barner.
