Yvonne Butler

Yvonne Butler, age 68, wife of Dean Butler, and a resident of Columbia, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 27, 2020 at Maury Regional Medical Center.

A private graveside service will be held at Maury Memorial Gardens. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Born on August 28, 1951 in Chicago, Illinois, Yvonne was the daughter of the late James Holland Young and the late Sylvia Sistek Young. She grew up in Chicago where she attended Gage Park High School. She worked for Mack Trucking, Phillip Morris Kool-Aid Division, and Andrew Satellite Corporation where she met and married the love of her life, Dean. In 1997 they moved to Maury County where they raised their family. She worked for the Columbia Daily Herald and was a long-time employee at Captain D’s. She loved lady bugs, Chicago P.D., and word finds.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children: Donna (Erik) Young of Mt. Pleasant, James Butler of Columbia, Natalie Butler of Columbia, Michael (Rebekah) Butler of Washington; sister, Joann (Gary) Furkin of Columbia; brother, James (Cindy) Young of Chicago; grandchildren: Sylena Young, Syrena Young, Sydney Young, Trevor Butler, Justin Butler, Dylan Butler; and a host of nieces, nephews, and close friends.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by one great grandchild.
