Daughter of Marlene Gentry and the late Gary Gentry, she was born on August 23, 1961 in Lake Charles, Louisiana. She became the proud wife of Jim R. Hawkins, Jr. on July 9, 1981.
In addition to her mother and husband, she is survived by her brother, Ray Mayberry and his wife Saundra, brother Lane Gentry, sister Sandra Gentry, daughter Katie Jones and her husband Justin, daughter Carolyn Hawkins as well as her granddaughter Elizabeth Hawkins.
Sharon was an accomplished artist, musician, mother, wife and daughter. She was an active member in the Society of Creative Anachronism in the Kingdom of Meridiase. She was the one you heard over the roar of the crowd and always the one first to laugh. No matter who you were or where you came from, she made sure her home was always open to all who needed a warm hug and a home cooked meal. She was an advocate for her local animal shelter, as well as many animal rescues in and out of Tennessee and would have adopted them all if she could. She was loved by all who met her and will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege to know her. There are never enough words to describe those we have lost, so in her memory, please tell those you love how much they mean to you while they are here.
Pallbearers will be: Justin Jones, Nick Ohlemacher, Ray Mayberry, Carson Reed, Guy Hawkins and Chris Hawkins.
If you would like to send flowers, please send them to Heritage Funeral Home. If you would like to make a donation in her name, please donate to your local animal shelter or rescue and continue helping a cause she believes so strongly in.
